Greetings from the Schumann Singers!
Norm Ashley, Interim Director
Since 1993, the Schumann Singers have provided the Grand Junction, Colorado area with a wide variety of the greatest music written for choral voices. Under the direction of Merritt Schumann, James Werner, Norman Ashley, Tyson Repke and Marcia Wieland the quality and range of the choir has grown to a very high level.
The Schumann Singers are pleased to have a dedicated and enthusiastic audience that enjoys the wonderful acoustics and instruments of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Junction.

Norm Ashley has agreed to return as musical director of the Schumann Singers.
Marcia Wieland, our director from fall 2011 to spring 2013, and is the choral director at Grand Junction High School will no longer be available to be our conductor. She has grown the program at GJHS in numbers and quality to such an extent that a great opportunity has come her way. This summer she received news that her Chamber Choir has been invited to New York City, to sing in Avery Fisher Hall under the direction of renowned choral meister Eric Whitacre. Preparing for this event will make her busy schedule even busier and so she has resigned as director of the Schumann Singers. We wish her good fortune in this new endeavor.
